Humans evolved, body and mind, in relationship to the natural world but in the clamor of modern life, it’s easy to lose touch. The daily grind of contemporary life wears on us in ways both subtle and indisputable.
To promote health and wellbeing, Forest Awakenings offers Forest Therapy walks inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, a restorative treatment that prescribes “bathing” in the forest for medical conditions ranging from stress to cancer and depression.
Our walks follow a research-based framework developed by the international Association for Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) designed to build reciprocal relationships with the natural world.
